Experience beyond school projects
What I did outside the curriculum, and what each experience taught me.
Systems & Network Technician (L1–L3 support) · Connexio Telecom
Work Sept 2023 – Mar 2024
Telecom and network support. I diagnosed and fixed incidents across levels 1 to 3 and handled escalations when a problem went beyond the first answer. Before each deployment I audited the customer’s network, then installed and configured the telecom equipment.
What I took from it: troubleshooting methodically under time pressure, and explaining a technical problem clearly to someone who is not technical. Auditing a network before touching it also became a habit.
IT Technician (TICE) – Nîmes site lead · Faculté d'éducation – Université de Montpellier, Nîmes site
Work Sept 2022 – Sept 2023
I ran IT for the Nîmes site of the faculty: administering and maintaining the computer fleet, and handling level 2 and 3 incidents through a ticketing system following ITIL practices. I deployed network monitoring with LibreNMS (SNMP), the tool I had evaluated during my internship at Sorbonne Université, and managed the LAN/WAN cabling.
What I took from it: being the person responsible for a site, not just a pair of hands. Prioritising tickets, keeping users informed, and putting monitoring in place so problems show up before users report them.
Assistant to the Head of IT & Communications (intern) · Observatoire Océanologique de Banyuls-sur-Mer – Sorbonne Université
Internships Apr 2022 – May 2022
Internship during my Systems & Network Technician training. The IT department needed a monitoring and alerting stack, and I helped them choose one: I compared the options, tested LibreNMS and deployed it to show it working. I then presented the stack and the technologies behind it (SNMP, discovery, alerting) to the IT team so they could decide.
What I took from it: a technical choice has to be argued, not just made. Testing in real conditions and presenting the result to the people who will run it every day was as important as the install itself.
Production Technician Assistant (work-study) · Pyrescom – Perpignan
Work Mar 2019 – Aug 2021
Work-study contract alongside my Bac Pro in Digital Systems (networks and business IT option, CFAI Baillargues). I worked in production: assembling hardware, precision soldering of electronic components and maintenance. I also installed and configured the operating systems on the devices we built and ran quality checks before they shipped.
What I took from it: rigour and patience, since one bad solder joint can ruin a board. It is also where I learned that hardware and software are one product: a device only works if both are right.
