Homelab
My own servers at home, Docker stacks behind a reverse proxy, VPN access, and a monitoring stack that feeds this site's Lab page.
Context & objective
TODO(content): why you started a homelab, and what you wanted to learn from it.
What I built
- A main server running Docker stacks, behind a Caddy reverse proxy with automatic HTTPS (Cloudflare DNS challenge) for
*.manziltchu.fr. - Private services only reachable from my home network or through WireGuard, with a few public ones above that gate.
- AdGuard Home as the network’s DNS, with internal names under
home.arpa. - A monitoring stack: Prometheus with node_exporter, cAdvisor and blackbox_exporter, private Grafana dashboards, and my own exporter reading the Freebox OS API (bandwidth) and Moonraker (3D printer).
- A small public API, written in Node.js with no dependencies, that publishes a safe, cached subset of these metrics. It feeds the Lab page.
Challenges
TODO(content): e.g. bringing everything back after the move, keeping the API safe to expose publicly.
