3D printer on Klipper
Brought an Artillery Sidewinder X3 Plus back into service on Klipper firmware, run from a dedicated host and monitored from the Lab page.
Context & objective
Get my printer printing reliably again, with more control than the stock firmware gives.
What I built
- Flashed Klipper onto the printer’s STM32F401 board, with the printer-specific method.
- Fitted a hardened steel nozzle.
- Calibrated PID, Z offset and the bed mesh from scratch.
- Moonraker’s API will feed the printer card on the Lab page once its host is back online.
Next: a multi-filament setup fed by 4 to 6 dry boxes, in an equipment closet.
Challenges
Flashing the board with the right method for this printer, then calibrating everything from zero.
What I learned
TODO(content): in your own words. Raw material: Klipper’s split between the host and the microcontroller, printer calibration.
